Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has made it mandatory for all ongoing and new building construction and infrastructure projects within PMC limits, having a built-up area of 5,000 sq. m and above, to deploy sensor-based air quality monitoring systems along with LED-based dust severity indicators at construction sites.
This directive is issued vide Circular dated 15.12.2025 by the Additional Municipal Commissioner (Estate), PMC, in pursuance of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986, directions of the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB), and PMC’s mandate to control dust pollution arising from construction activities.

Key Regulations
Adherence to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) requirements is mandatory for all applicable construction and infrastructure projects within PMC limits.
